Why our model is the best

SMALLHOLDER POULTRY

NSPDT’s smallholder community poultry model enables poor women in rural India to start and run successful poultry enterprises.

Organisation

Rain-fed agriculture has traditionally been the core of livelihoods for poor families in rural Jharkhand, supplemented in varying degrees by small livestock rearing, handicrafts, wages and hunting and gathering.

How the Model Works

Due to the close cooperation of our tax advisors and lawyers we offer comprehensive and effective solutions, as well as smooth and effective implementation of complicated and wide-ranging projects.

Awards & Achievements

Gumla Grameen Self-Supporting Poultry Co-operative Society Ltd. was awarded the Best Rural Community Micro Enterprise 2013 by Citi Foundation in Mumbai on December 2013.

About us

Rain-fed agriculture has traditionally been the core of livelihoods for poor families in rural Jharkhand, supplemented in varying degrees by small livestock rearing, handicrafts, wages and hunting and gathering. Improving agricultural productivity and more generally the productivity of primary rural resources is, therefore, essential to enhance rural livelihoods. Agriculture, however, has inherent limits as a livelihood for land-less people and marginal farmers.
